It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to East Texas A&M University. Our colleges, departments and programs are comprised of committed faculty, staff and students who help foster an enriching campus environment. Vision statement
East Texas A&M University's Division of Academic Affairs oversees administrative support and results-based accountability to ensure academic excellence and nurture a sense of belonging for all. The mission is to empower individuals to explore and pursue their passions, transforming their lives for the better. This is achieved by investing in an array of teaching, classroom learning, research, service, partnership and professional development initiatives that encourage innovation. We strive to create an environment where our faculty and staff can effectively prepare students with the necessary skills and behaviors to become career-ready graduates of the 21st century. Through our collaborative efforts, we aim to add value and impact to the Northeast Texas region and beyond.
Resources
Deans Council
Deans Council provides oversight on academic matters and initiatives. Its membership consists of the academic leadership team and is chaired by the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Office of Institutional Research
Institutional Research supports the ongoing process of collecting, analyzing, reporting and warehousing quantitative and qualitative data about the institution's students, faculty and staff.
Office of Institutional Effectiveness
Institutional Effectiveness facilitates integrated strategic planning, assessment and reporting to support data-informed decision-making, policy formation, academic program development, accreditation efforts and continuous improvement at the university.
Office of Academic Technology
The Office of Academic Technology improves experiences with myLEO Online, course design, accessibility and multimedia studio production for courses.
Texas Association for Black Personnel in Higher Education
The Texas Association for Black Personnel in Higher Education (TABPHE) is a statewide, voluntary educational association that represents all levels of higher education and serves as a voice for Black faculty, staff, students and administrators in order to ensure a better educational system for all. TABPHE provides an avenue for professional development opportunities that enrich higher education personnel and improve the quality of their professional growth.
Academic Success Center
The Academic Success Center (ASC) provides resources, including tutoring, to help you succeed in your classes.
State Authorization
State Authorization is the process of gaining approval from other states to operate within their borders. This improves consumer protection and students' ability to participate in distance education courses.
Texas Success Initiative
The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Assessment is designed to help your college or university determine if you are ready for college-level coursework.
Faculty Ombuds
The Ombuds Office ensures that every voice at Texas A&M University-Commerce is heard, without fear of loss of privacy, retribution or retaliation and that problems can receive impartial attention.
Investing in Us
Investing in Us offers a professional development program at no cost to Texas A&M University-Commerce faculty and staff through a series of credit-bearing, academic, master classes. The program promotes a supportive environment for employees seeking to learn, grow and thrive in their careers.
Artificial Intelligence Initiative
The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Initiative focuses on integrating AI into several areas of the university, from teaching to service delivery. Its primary goal is to leverage AI for student success.
Core Curriculum
With both professional and liberal arts programs, East Texas A&M recognizes general education as a necessary component in the development of all students.
Title III
Title III works across offices and departments to provide first-year students with all the resources they need to succeed.
